Artisan chocolate brand Choc on Choc has entered the bagged selfline category with the introduction of a retail line of chocolate buttons.
The 100g premium sharing packs are available in chocolate, raspberry, salted caramel and chocolate orange varieties and have a recommended retail price of £2.99 per pack. Their unique design means that the confectionery products actually look like clothes buttons. The range has already secured distribution with Cotswold Fayre and Foods of Europe, which will be the start of a wider retail rollout, the Bath-based brand said.
The product development is integral to the company’s growth strategy and aims to tap into the booming demand for confectionery sharing bags, with bagged selflines experiencing growth of more than 4% in 2014.
Chon on Choc founder Flo Broughton said: “The launch of the sharing packs is an exciting new direction for Choc on Choc. They are helping the business diversify and will provide the brand with a product that taps into the booming premium sharing category, offering an exciting proposition for retailers looking to provide consumers with British-produced artisan chocolate.
“Like all of Choc on Choc’s products, they feature our signature offering of delicious British chocolate made into beautifully intricate designs. We believe that we have an exciting and unique offering and anticipate huge demand for the product.”
