Japan’s Asahi Premium Beverages (APB) has acquired premium vodka brand Vodka O and several other spirit brands from Australian based ASM Liquor.
The deal sees Asahi acquire Vodka O and Mexico’s Tequila Blu in all markets where these brand are currently sold. Canadian spiced whisky product Spicebox Whisky will also join the company’s portfolio as well as VDKA 6100 – a super premium vodka – with APB acquiring the brand for use in Australia, New Zealand and Japan and ASM retaining the brand for use in the US and other markets where it is currently sold.
APB’s chief commercial officer Scott Hadley said: “These brands will give APB an important position within the full strength spirits category. This will mean we can offer our customers an even broader range of alcohol beverages.”
This news comes after Asahi recently continued to record buoyant growth in both second-quarter revenue and profit.
