According to its latest Interim Management Statement, the company’s revenue rose 15%, in line with expectations.
The chain is Britain’s second-largest clothing retailer after Marks & Spencer, with a market share of more than 10%. However, the organisation also owns AB Enzymes, AB Ingredients, Allied Bakeries, Twinings and British Sugar, among others.
Sugar revenues have helped the strong performance, which were 20% ahead of last year. Clothing company Primark also accounted for the strong performance, with sales 18% ahead of last year.
AB Foods said full-year results will be “in line” with its expectation for little change in net income.
