Mahou San Miguel-owned Avery Brewing Company has lined up the launch of a range of hard seltzers with zero added sugars called Sparkle.
The Colorado-based brewer tried more than 60 flavour options before opting for three flagship variants: cherry lime, grapefruit and CranRaz.
In a statement, the brewer said: “Avery spent over a year diligently perfecting a hard seltzer with flavour and body that raises the standard in this rapidly expanding market. Using their extensive brewing experience and knowledge, Avery’s team crafted a consistently high-quality hard seltzer that’s glacier-spiked, clean and refreshing.”
With an ABV of 5%, Sparkle will be distributed across Avery’s distribution footprint in mixed 12 packs of 12oz cans and in six-packs of 12oz cans beginning in late February.
The 5% ABV Sparkle range will be available as of February.
A report released last month by IWSR Drinks Market Analysis predicts the hard seltzer category in the US will more than triple by 2023.
Hard seltzer and other seltzer-like products command a market share of 2.6% of all beverage alcohol in the US, up from only 0.85% a year ago. IWSR said the rise of the hard seltzer category across the US beverage alcohol industry “has been nothing short of phenomenal”.
Spain’s Mahou San Miguel acquired a majority stake in Avery Brewing last year.
