British fruit juice company B.Fresh has launched a range of prebiotic and probiotic smoothies in the UK, responding to a consumer demand for products which support digestive health.
Called Super Smoothies + Active Cultures, the beverages are available in two flavours: berry boss, a blend of blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry, carrot and beetroot, balanced with sweet notes of apple; and green guru, a mix of spinach, pea, cucumber, avocado and apple.
B.Fresh claimed that both are high in vitamin C and antioxidants and have been high pressure processed to ensure ‘the highest levels of vitamins and nutrients are retained’.
The company said in a statement: “A blend of cold pressed fruit and vegetables, each bottle is enriched with 1 billion active cultures Ganeden Bacillus Coagulans, dairy free probiotics that increase your gut microbiome and so support digestive health naturally. Chicory root extract, an ingredient with inulin, is a prebiotic to nourish the good bacteria already in the gut, whilst also giving a healthy hit of fibre to keep cravings at bay and is proven to have a positive effect on bowel function.”
B.Fresh has recently rebranded and streamlined its range as it aims to move towards a no-nonsense approach with packaging outlining what is inside each bottle for consumers to see.
B.Fresh founder Philip Maddocks said: “In this fast-moving world of wellness, we as a brand have learnt a great deal in our short journey. We are excited to bring our new brand, juices and smoothies to the market to deliver a refreshingly honest and relevant offer to the consumer who is quite clearly bamboozled by the noise in category.”
