The company’s new can designs include a silk & shine creation that combines the effects of high gloss and matt printing for a unique look and feel – a neon concept – which features an intense neon yellow colour on a black background to grab consumer attention, and a product that includes invisible ink, which is only visible under direct sunlight.
BPE’s invisible ink can finish reveals hidden messages and images when it comes in contact with UV rays, which vanish as sunlight diminishes.
“Sunlight Effect adds a sense of excitement to buying drinks – consumers want to find out what the hidden message on the packaging says,” said Ball Packaging Europe product manager Marc Schoeppner. “Consumers pick up the can from the shelf, which increases the likelihood that they will buy the product.”
