National account manager Gavin Price has joined the sales team at Dutch brewer Bavaria, with a remit to grow the brand’s sales in the convenience sector, servicing accounts such as Bargain Booze, Spar, Co-op, Waitrose and One Stop.
His recent experience as business development manager for Bic UK & Ireland Ltd, where he consistently delivered growth across all accounts, ensured he was Bavaria’s first choice to promote the brewer’s Premium 5% beer and innovative range of 0.0% alcohol free beers.
Price commented on his appointment: “I’m working hard to develop my knowledge of the category, the routes to market, our competitors and the market trends, but I’m confident my more than 25 years’ experience will strengthen our relationships with major players in the convenience sector and reflect our continuing success in the multiple sector.
“Bavaria has a great range of quality beers, with something for everyone and every occasion – a simple message that will help take our alcohol-free beers to new markets and build sales of Bavaria 5% Premium.
“We recognise the convenience sector’s need for new products and fresh ideas to attract consumers that now shop little and often. Bavaria is the second largest alcohol-free brand in the off-trade market and these beers remain a focus of our strategic plan, but we cannot ignore the potential to increase sales of our Premium Beer as the convenience sector continues to grow – some commentators predicting it could reach almost £50bn within five years.
