Minnesota-based wine and spirits owner Prestige Beverage Group has acquired the Windsor Canadian whisky brand from Beam Suntory for an undisclosed sum.
According to the press release, the Windsor brand is among the top selling Canadian whiskies in the US.
The blended whisky is made with premium grains grown near Calgary, Alberta, and the glacial born waters of Western Canada. To date, the brand range includes original and black cherry flavours.
Following the acquisition, Windsor will continue to be produced by Alberta Distillers Limited with availability across the US, Canada and beyond.
Under the terms of the agreement, Windsor will join Prestige’s line of spirit brands such as Kinky Beverages, Joia Spirit, The Whistler Irish Whiskey and the recently launched Indoggo Gin.
“Windsor is a historic and beloved brand with deep roots and loyal consumers, which makes it the perfect addition to our growing wine and spirits portfolio,” said Scott Schilling, general manager and CMO of Prestige Beverage Group.
He added: “Windsor has an incredible track record, and our team is excited for continued growth.”
