Best Day Brewing secures $22.5m in funding to expand non-alcoholic beer offerings

Best Day Brewing, a fast-growing brand in the non-alcoholic craft beer segment, has successfully raised $22.5 million in total funding this year, bolstering its position in the rapidly expanding market.

Since entering the non-alcoholic beverage sector in 2022, Best Day Brewing has quickly gained traction. The global non-alcoholic beer market, valued at approximately $20 billion in 2023, is projected to double in size by 2033, reflecting a significant shift in consumer preferences towards mindful drinking.

The funding, which comes from both new partners and existing investors, is aimed at expanding Best Day’s product pipeline and scaling its distribution network across the US.

The company currently offers a range of non-alcoholic beers, including IPAs and seasonal flavour launches, which are crafted using premium ingredients and a brewing process that aims to preserve flavour while removing alcohol.

CEO and founder Tate Huffard commented: “There’s a shift happening with drinking behaviours. The future is all about freedom of choice. Consumers are demanding more options, whether they are mindful drinkers, switch drinkers, Cali-sober, sober curious or just want a really good tasting beer without the impact of alcohol.”

He continued: "To date, the explosive growth in this category has largely come from word of mouth. The funding we’ve received this year will help grow our brand awareness and allow us to reach a much larger audience, support our rapidly increasing retail and distribution network and lead to many more best days across the country.”

Market research indicates that 65% of consumers are now drinking more mindfully, with a notable decline in alcohol consumption among younger demographics. This trend underscores the potential for continued growth in the non-alcoholic segment.

Jane Armstrong Hockman, president of Best Day Brewing, added: "The non-alcoholic movement is here to stay. Best Day entered the category at the start of the surge and offered consumers a product that complemented their lifestyle".

Best Day Brewing's products are currently available in 35 states and through major retailers including Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.

As the non-alcoholic beverage market continues to evolve, Best Day Brewing's recent funding marks a significant step towards expanding its influence and product offerings in a competitive landscape.
