World-inspired food brand Bol has introduced two new additions to its range of nutritious meal pots.
The Italian tomato courgetti and Moroccan chicken tagine are “bursting with fresh and wholesome ingredients”, Bol Foods said, and provide one of the five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables. Ready in under three minutes, they are an ideal option for busy consumers who don’t want to compromise on taste, Bol said.
Its new tomato courgette brings the trend for spiralised vegetables to the fore and delivers on “the robust flavours of the Mediterranean”. The summer pasta alternative, suitable for vegetarians, is packed with courgettes, arborio and red rice, broccoli, cannellini beans and basil pesto in an Italian-style sun-dried tomato sauce.
The Moroccan chicken tagine, meanwhile, provides a “traditional taste of the Middle East” and perfectly marries the fragrant foods of North Africa with the spice blends famously found in the souks. High in protein and low in fat, the new recipe combines marinated spiced chicken with giant cous cous, roasted butternut squash, turmeric chickpeas, dried apricots and a squeeze of zesty lemon.
Developed in collaboration with top chefs and nutritionist Ian Marber, the two new recipes join Bol’s range of vibrant meal pots, which include the existing Thai coconut curry, Sri Lankan lentil sambar, Mexican sweet potato chilli, and Jamaican jerk chicken varieties.
Each pot, available in the UK from supermarkets Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, will have a recommended retail price of between £3 and £3.50.
