The missing link in most national guidelines for nutrition is the absence of guidance on hydration, despite its importance for good health. Brazil has now led the way. In its new government 10-point plan for healthy eating, one of them is devoted to water.
Drink at least two litres (6-8 glasses) of water a day. Preferably drink water between meals.
This is a triumph for common sense and a major accomplishment by the Brazilian industry association ABINAM.
I am especially pleased because it’s one of the key elements in the Global Protocol for Bottled Water proposal I launched back in May.
Congratulations ABINAM and thank you for this happy Christmas present.
