Welsh snack bar manufacturer Brighter Foods has unveiled plans to launch the Wild Trail brand in its first move into brand ownership.
The company specialises in creating and manufacturing healthier snacks for a range of customers in niche areas including gluten-free and diet-controlled cereal bars.
The Wild Trail product range will launch initially with three fruit and nut trail bars, made from five simple and natural ingredients. The single 46g bars will be available in seed and nut, apple, and cacao flavours with a recommended retail price of £0.99. Initially sold in shelf-ready cases of 18 bars with multipacks to follow, the bar packaging has been designed to have strong shelf standout while the attractive outer is ideal for at-the-till impulse purchases, Brighter Foods said.
Further product launches will follow in the summer of 2016.
Brighter Foods managing director Robin Williams said: “We’re excited about the future of Wild Trail. We wanted to create a range of nutritionally balanced products made from only a handful of simple and natural ingredients that consumers would recognise, ingredients they would find in their kitchen cupboard at home.
“While there are many snack bars on the market, many have between 10-28 unrecognisable and complex ingredients. Wild Trail challenges that thinking and proves free-from and ‘healthier’ snacking can be truly delicious using a simple ingredients list.
“All our bars are gluten-, dairy- and refined sugar-free. We think the future is bright for healthier snacking and our aim is to offer people across all generations the opportunity to snack well. Our intention is that the products will be available across the multiples, convenience and leisure outlets nationally.”
