Ahmad Tea has announced plans to launch a range of “dessert teas” inspired by sorbets, cakes and soufflés to the UK market.
Launching this month, Dessert Teas will appeal to consumers looking for a more sophisticated tea which tastes as good as it smells, Ahmad Tea said. The new range can be enjoyed at any time with or without milk, and is free from calories.
They’re ideal for consumers looking for something tasty and indulgent but without the sugar, and they are available in six different dessert-inspired flavours: strawberry velvet cake, pear and cinnamon strudel, and Moroccan orange slice black teas, while there is also citrus and mint sorbet, strawberry basil coulis, and mango and lychee soufflé green teas.
Dessert Teas have been brought out to overcome the common disappointment often associated with flavoured teas, Ahmad Tea said. Research found that there was a disappointing disparity between how a fruit tea smells and tastes. Packed in loose leaf pyramids, each new blend of tea has been specially crafted by Ahmad Tea’s master tea tasters and then tested with UK consumers to ensure a positive reception in the market.
With consumers broadening their horizons in terms of both hot and cold drinks, and replacing everyday teas for speciality teas at different occasions, Ahmad Tea claimed that the new range would “fit in perfectly with today’s consumer needs”.
Ahmad Tea general manager Ali Afshar said: “Taste and quality is at the heart of everything we do and we’ve put a great deal of care and passion into crafting the Dessert Tea range. Although the UK has historically been the hub of the global tea trade, the consumer market is currently behind the rest of the world when it comes offering quality speciality teas at accessible prices.
“That’s why we launched Dessert Teas – to change this by providing UK consumers with something unparalleled in terms of taste and innovation. While the tea and packaging create a sense of occasion, Dessert Teas can be enjoyed at any time. And we know from past experience that our teas find a loyal and dedicated following among true tea lovers.”
Ahmad Tea will be available online with a recommended retail price of £3.50, with retail listings being added from the middle of the year.
