Britvic Ireland has added two new, sugar free ‘super fruity’ products to its best selling MiWadi range of cordials.
The two new flavours are blueberry and passion fruit, and cranberry, apple and white grape. The range is fortified with vitamins B3, B6 and zinc. The new flavours to the MiWadi range gives consumers even more to choose from for water alternatives.
The ‘super fruity’ MiWadi range also adds to the sugar free, or ‘0%’, line of products BritVic had released in order to bounce back from the sugar tax introduced in April 2018. According to Neilsen, MiWadi continues to grow year on year maintaining its top position in the flavour enhancer category for 2018. This is due to its use of sweeteners from stevia extracts in order to sustain the well-known taste for consumers.
The 0% range from MiWadi welcomed praise from organisations such as Diabetes Ireland.
Kieran O’Leary, chief executive officer of Diabetes Ireland said: “In Ireland, it is estimated that 225,000 people have diabetes and this will increase to 282,000 people by 2030.
“Our partnership with MiWadi 0% Sugar is a first of its kind for us and we welcome their innovation and leadership to launch a 0% sugar range. We look forward to working with them this year to improve awareness on the importance of healthy hydration in the diabetes community, and indeed in the wider population. MiWadi 0% Sugar offers a delicious alternative to water for people with diabetes and we are delighted to have them involved as a partner.”
