Popcorn brand Butterkist has unveiled plans to release two exclusive limited editions for the seasonal market.
Butterkist Grim Green sweet popcorn and Butterkist gingerbread-flavoured popcorn will both launch in September 2015, available in 150g bags with a recommended retail price of £1.49.
The limited edition Grim Green sweet popcorn range features bright green popcorn made with natural colours and flavours. It is the first coloured popcorn to launch in the major multiples, and has been developed following consumer research which shows that novelty products are key to driving consumer purchase at Halloween, Butterkist said.
Butterkist’s limited edition gingerbread popcorn, meanwhile, will be “the first gingerbread popcorn product in the grocery channel”. The sweet and spicy flavour will appeal to shoppers looking to experience something new within the popcorn market, as well as those who are seeking out novelty winter treats, the brand added
Both variants will be available in supermarkets, convenience stores and wholesalers to coincide with the Halloween holiday.
