Water boiler manufacturer Calomax has had its membership application accepted by The British Water Cooler Association (BWCA), as it seeks to increase its recognition from within the industry.
The Leeds-based firm makes water boilers for the catering sector and has worked with a number of high-profile clients, including rail operators and public sector organisations. They will join BWCA as a supplier member, a status that could potentially lead to the creation of further trading opportunities with BWCA members.
Paul Bowers, Calomax’s sales and marketing director, said: “If you have had a cup of tea on a Eurostar or EastCoast train or a hot drink in a hospital, the chances are it was made with water from a Calomax boiler. Calomax sees membership of the BWCA as an essential step in our aim to become a key supplier in this important and thriving sector.”
Two years ago, Calomax launched the 3C5, a smaller counter-top boiler targeted at a range of industrial applications. It has a capacity of five litres with an immediate draw-off of 30 cups, and at 44cm is small enough to fit beneath standard-height kitchen cupboards. Calomax says that the 3C5 is “easy to install and maintain, and its integral scale-inhibitor enables a chemical-free descale in hard-water areas.”
The company manufactures counter-top and wall-mounted water boiling units, and accessories, for a whole range of capacity requirements.
Phillipa Atkinson-Clow, BWCA’s general manager, said: “This is an exciting time for the water cooler industry and we are pleased to welcome a new supplier member whose offering will be of interest to our existing members.”
