Roberto Leopardi, president of Campbell’s Meals & Beverages
Campbell’s has appointed former SC Johnson executive Roberto Leopardi as the new president of its Campbell’s Meals and Beverages division, effective from 4 June 2018.
The division includes the company’s North American soup, sauce and shelf-stable beverage brands, as well as the operations of Pacific Foods and Plum.
Leopardi joins the company following 24 years at SC Johnson, where he most recently served as the vice-president of North American marketing, where he drove growth through a focus on e-commerce and the introduction of new products.
Additionally, Leopardi began his career in the food and beverage industry with Nestlé, where he spent four years working in various marketing roles.
Leopardi will report directly to the newly-appointed Campbell’s chief operating officer Luca Mignini, one of the favourites to succeed former Campbell’s CEO Denise Morrison, who resigned from her position last week.
Commenting on the appointment, Mignini said: “Roberto brings extensive consumer-packaged goods industry experience where he has built, grown and transformed global businesses.
“He will offer a fresh perspective to the division that is home to many of our iconic brands.
“Roberto will play a critical role in delivering against our strategic priorities of stabilising and then sustaining strong financial results for this important Campbell division.”
