Natural food product producer Carrington Farms has expanded into the whey protein sector for the first time after acquiring whey protein manufacturer tera’swhey.
Wisconsin-based tera’swhey was founded in 2009 and produces a range USDA-certified organic whey protein powders and whey protein powders made from goat whey.
Carrington Farms claims the acquisition will strengthen its position in the ‘health and well-being’ segment, and allow the company to meet changing consumer demands.
David Eben, Carrington Farms’ CEO said: “At Carrington Farms, we are always aiming to provide simple, clean and real products to our consumers and adding tera’swhey to our parent brand portfolio is a representation of our commitment as a leading natural foods company.
“Between the quality products and the respectable reputation the tera’swhey brand has already established, we could not be more excited to use our unique, innovative and prospective approach to really disrupt the protein powder and supplement category.
“The seamless matchup between tera’s core values with Carrington’s is one that brings great promise and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to propel tera’s forward.”
