Soft drinks manufacturer CBL Drinks has introduced two additional flavours and a new 500ml bottle format to its 1870s brand of mixers.
The company is extending the current range, which previously consisted of tonic water and soda water, with the launch of two new varieties: ginger beer, and lime and soda mixer. All four products will be available in a 500ml polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle format, which CBL Drinks claimed responded to the demand of its consumers.
The range will be available as a 12-pack for the trade, which can be sold individually at retail for future consumption or for on-the-go consumers as an alternative to high sugar carbonated drinks. The 1870s mixers appeal to the growing number of health-conscious consumers, the manufacturer said, while the new 500ml bottle size will help to reduce the wastage that occurs with half-used 1l bottles.
CBL Drinks sales and marketing director Maurice Newton said: “We felt there was a gap in the market for a range of mixers in a 500ml PET bottle format. Not only are they great for future consumption as mixers, but can act as a tasty and refreshing standalone drink for the on-the-go consumer – lime and soda being a particularly popular choice for consumers. The 1870s range offers both great quality and a fair price-point, and we are delighted to be extending it further.”
