Cellar Trends has expanded its range of Jefferson’s small-batch bourbons in the UK by introducing two limited-edition variants.
The first is Jefferson’s Manhattan, which will be the first barrel-finished bottled Manhattan cocktail to be sold on an international scale, alcohol distributor Cellar Trends said. The 34% ABV beverage combines Jefferson’s bourbon, dry and sweet vermouth, and barrel-aged spiced cherry bitters, all aged for 90 days in oak barrels for a final product that boasts “soft notes of licorice and oak”. It is bottled in 70cl formats with a recommended retail price of £50.
It will be accompanied by Jefferson’s Groth, an extra-matured cabernet sauvignon cask finish old bourbon. With an ABV of 45.1%, the limited-release bourbon has been extra-matured for nine months in ex-cabernet sauvignon barrels from Napa Valley’s renowned Groth vineyards, Cellar Trends said. Also available in 70cl bottles, it has a recommended retail price of £99.
Cellar Trends group marketing manager Katie Warren said: “Jefferson’s is well known for its experimental and adventurous approach to blending… The launch of the two new limited editions will highlight Jefferson’s skill as one of the most innovative bourbon blenders. They deliver surprising new styles which have a creative edge in their production and will intrigue discerning drinkers. Further new launches will follow in 2016.”
