Specialist food producer Chaucer has announced the opening of a purpose-built facility for the freeze drying of fruit and vegetables.
The factory in Oregon will enable the company to work with customers on a geographic basis, increase efficiency through local manufacture, while retaining robust contingency planning from the company’s other sites in France and China. It will “further strengthen Chaucer’s position as the market leader on the global freeze dried fruit and vegetable manufacturing platform”.
Chaucer’s CEO Andy Ducker said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of our new US facility, a milestone achievement for the company which underpins our positioning as one of the global leaders on the freeze dry stage. We work at the very forefront of the freeze dried and specialist food ingredient global markets and are very excited about our new phase of development.”
The company also indicated that it would further expand the facility in the mid-term to take further advantage of the “growing market place”.
