Chobani has launched a new range of zero sugar yogurts made with only natural ingredients, which it claims is a nationwide first for the US.
Each 5.3 oz cup of Chobani Zero Sugar contains 60 calories, 11g of protein, zero sugar and six live and active cultures including probiotics. The line features vanilla, mixed berry, strawberry and blueberry flavours.
To achieve the zero-sugar content, Chobani says it makes the new product with milk that has been filtered to reduce naturally occurring sugar. The brand then uses natural fermentation methods that allow yogurt cultures to consume the remaining sugar; and then adds natural non-GMO sweeteners such as monk fruit and alllulose.
“Our team developed a brand new product that is as delicious as it is healthy. You won’t find another product on shelves nationwide in the US dairy aisle with 11g of protein and only natural ingredients, but no sugar or artificial sweeteners,” said Peter McGuinness, president and COO of Chobani.
Chobani Zero Sugar will be available to buy nationwide at grocery and retail stores this summer for an RRP of $1.49 per cup. Meanwhile, four-packs of vanilla and mixed berry varieties will retail for $4.49 and 32 oz multi-serve vanilla pots will be available for $5.49.
In addition, the brand has launched Greek Yogurt Mango & Cream as part of a collaboration with community initiative Unstuck to support refugees in finding jobs.
Meanwhile, Chobani Flip Limited Batch Chewy Churro Greek yogurt, Chobani Oat Oat Nog (a non-dairy oatmilk with custard and spiced aromas) and Chobani Oat Coffee Creamer Limited Batch Peppermint Mocha have also joined the brand’s line of product offerings.
