Chobani has announced its “biggest expansion ever” with a new platform of oat-based drinks and cultured oat blends as well as a range of dairy creamers.
As of this month in the US, Chobani will release a range of oat drinks, an oat-based Barista Blend that is designed to behave like steamed whole milk in coffee and tea, four oat-based yogurts as well as a trio of Oat Blend with Crunch yogurts.
The company said its oat platform “isn’t meant to be a replacement for dairy as for most, it’s not an either/or world between dairy and non-dairy products”.
“Like yogurt, oats are an ancient food with deep roots in our culture and our land. These grains deserve to be celebrated,” said Hamdi Ulukaya, founder and CEO of Chobani.
“I always knew our journey from yogurt to becoming a modern food company would be through nutritious, delicious, batch-made products like Chobani Oats, and today they’re helping us further deliver on our founding mission of making better food for more people.”
Chobani Oat Drink Barista Blend is designed to behave like steamed whole milk in coffee and tea.
Chobani will also release a range of dairy-based coffee creamers, available in four flavours: caramel, sweet cream, hazelnut and vanilla.
Finally, the company will debut a line of Greek yogurt with oatmeal “for those looking to enjoy the benefits of oats and dairy”. Flavours include: apple spice Greek yogurt with brown sugar oatmeal, blueberry Greek yogurt with maple oatmeal, banana Greek yogurt with maple oatmeal, and peach Greek yogurt with brown sugar oatmeal.
The news comes after Chobani moved into the dairy alternative sector earlier this year with the introduction of a coconut-based range.
