Suffolk cider maker Aspall has partnered with Square Keg, the newly formed sales and distribution subsidiary of New South Wales brewer Stone & Wood, to help improve its Australian distribution.
The partnership, effective from today, will build upon Aspall’s ten years of experience in the Australian market, during which time it was imported first by Little Creatures and then by new owner Lion.
Aspall partner and eighth generation cider maker Henry Chevallier Guild said: “We have enjoyed a very fruitful relationship first with Little Creatures and then Lion. As the largest brewer in Australia, Lion’s reach and market insight has been hugely helpful in cementing Aspall’s position in the market.
“We are hugely grateful to Lion for their support and we are looking forward to the next phase of Aspall’s growth in line with our broader international plans”
Square Keg’s Garry Hastings added: “Square Keg will be building a portfolio of drinks from producers both internationally and from Australia and we are particularly looking forward to working with the team at Aspall to grow our mutual business together. There is a great deal of synergy between the companies, the brands and the people involved. We share a philosophy around building quality differentiated, sustainable brands that create value and equity for all stakeholders and customers.”
