US start-up Cleveland Kitchen has launched a range of fermented dressings and marinades, as the brand looks to expand its portfolio and diversify into new categories.
Cleveland Kitchen Dressings and Marinades are available in four variants: Hail Caesar, a creamy dressing full of fresh herbs; Sweet Beet, a ‘vibrant’ naturally-sweetened salad topper; Roasted Garlic; and Gnarly Miso Jalapeño, with fermented cabbage, green peppers, jalapeño, and miso.
The brand, which initially ‘found fame’ through its range of sauerkraut, says it has taken these flavours and evolved them into tangy plant-based dressings.
Cleveland Kitchen, formerly Cleveland Kraut, was among the first five start-ups selected by Kraft Heinz to join its new Springboard incubator programme in 2018.
The initiative, which aims to nurture, scale, and accelerate the growth of disruptive brands, involves a programme of learning, funding, mentorship and infrastructure access.
Commenting on the company’s latest product launch, Cleveland Kitchen co-founder and CEO Drew Anderson said: “We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Whole Foods Market along with other retailers to get these delicious, creamy, fermented dressings and marinades out to consumers across America.
“With these dressings and marinades, we created a non-intimidating entry-point into fermented food that is bright and inviting to illustrate the health benefits that can come from regularly consuming fermented products.”
Cleveland Kitchen Dressings and Marinades are available for $5.99 from Whole Foods Market stores across the US, with a roll out to additional retailers to follow.
