Atlanta-based CCE is the world’s largest marketer, distributor and producer of bottled and canned Coca-Cola products. The company sells about 80% of The Coca-Cola Company’s North American volume. It’s also the sole licensed bottler for Coke products in Belgium, continental France, Great Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Monaco.
The Louisville centre is expected to employ 15 people by the end of March 2009, according to a news release from the office of Kentucky governor, Steve Beshear.
A CCE official told Business First in December that the company hopes to ultimately hire about 35 people to staff the operation. The employees will develop new information technology projects for the company, which is trying to become less reliant on external contractors, CCE said in a separate news release.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in September gave CCE preliminary approval for tax incentives up to $730,000 under the Kentucky Jobs Development Act, for the establishment of the information services centre.
