Turkish Coca-Cola bottler Coca-Cola Içecek has announced that it will invest $20m in the installation of a second bottling line at its plant in Tajikistan.
The expansion to the site in the country’s capital, Dushanbe, will enhance Coca-Cola Içecek ’s presence in Tajikistan and follows the investment of $50m in an initial bottling line with a capacity of 100m litres at the facility, earlier in the year.
That line was the result of an agreement between Coca-Cola Içecek and GosKomInvest – Tajikistan’s state committee on investment – and GosKomInvest’s first deputy chairman has now confirmed that Coca-Cola Içecek will sign an agreement on the second bottling line later this year.
Lochin Fayzulloyev said: “In October this year, GosKomInvest and Coca-Cola Içecek A.S. will sign an agreement on introducing the second line of the Coca Cola bottling plant into operation.”
Landlocked Tajikistan is a country in west Asia, bordered to the north and west by Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, to the south by Afghanistan, and sharing a 250-mile border to the east with China. Coca-Cola Içecek is the Turkish Coca-Cola bottler, which also has operations across the Middle East – including in Iraq, Azerbaijan, Syria, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
