Mexican food supplier Cool Chile Co has launched three new ambient sauces, designed to make it simple and more appealing for consumers to cook up Mexican cuisine at home.
The “fun, fresh and stylish” sauces consist of Mexican adobo marinade, a tangy marinade ideal for lamb; mojo de ajo, a garlic and chilli oil that can be used either as a sauce, marinade or dressing and works well mushrooms or prawns; and Mexican buffalo sauce, which is described as “a spicy sauce for chicken and vegetarian dishes such as macaroni cheese”.
Initially launching in 70g pots with larger sizes becoming available later, the sauces are “ideal for two to share”, Cool Chile Co said. The packaging features recipe ideas printed on the back, with recommended retail prices starting at £2.85.
The new products will seek to tap into the trend towards Mexican food, which is growing rapidly in popularity and was the UK’s most experimented with cuisine in the past year, as FoodBev reported back in July.
They were conceived after Cool Chile Co wanted to come up with a new line of sauces that would appeal to a demographic of busy but discerning cooks. Evolving from its original larder line of products, the innovation carries the same clean, fresh and distinctive branding as other Cool Chile Co ranges.
The company’s chief operating officer, Kelly Peak, said: “We are delighted with this new line which we are confident will appeal to both existing and new customers alike. With the steady increase in Mexican cuisine, the sauce pots offer a great new concept with different taste and heat options to choose from. This is a great time of year for us as we see new lines coming from our factory together with the launch of a new website which will be more comprehensive and eye-catching.”
