Beer brand Corona will offer sunbathers on a beach in Florida the opportunity to have a beer delivered straight to them this weekend, thanks to an innovative new partnership with on-demand alcohol delivery service Klink.
The drinks will be delivered right to the sand – complete with limes – by a jet ski from an off-shore Corona boat. Consumers can participate in the initiative simply by enabling location on their smartphone and downloading the Klink app, then ordering product through the virtual Klink storefront. The geo-specific locator will then identify each participant’s location, and orders will be quickly delivered by boat to a designated beachfront drop zone.
The Mexican brand said that this was the first time a beer brand had offered consumers this unique experience.

It is hoping that the memorable activation – in Madeira, on Florida’s west coast – will help to further cement Corona’s position as a beer brand of choice during summer drinking occasions. Klink is also hoping that it will demonstrate the growth opportunity for alcohol manufacturers in personalised deliveries.
John Alvarado, vice-president of marketing for Corona Extra, said: “No matter where they are, Corona has been helping consumers find their beach and deliver that care-free state of mind for more than 30 years. And we know that state-of-mind can be found wherever a cold Corona and friends and family are, but we’re so excited that Klink is literally bringing that experience to life, on-demand, right to the sand.”

Beach games and giveaways will also be available throughout the day, with each order of Corona arriving complete with the brand’s signature “swag”, it said.
