Crown has created a glow-in-the-dark can for PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew brand, which has now launched in countries throughout the Middle East.
Designed to attract consumer attention and boost sales in the hot summer season, the cans feature fluorescent inks, and Crown says that the bright green colour on the can “accentuates the bold Mountain Dew logo and reinforces the brand’s image”.
The neon colour provided by the fluorescent ink glows in the dark, “adding the elements of fun, surprise and interactivity to the packaging for this iconic brand.”
The inks were applied to beverage cans manufactured at Crown’s facilities in the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.
Crown also worked closely with PepsiCo and ink supplier INX to secure the necessary regulatory approvals for the cans.
The neon cans were released in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Lebanon, Qatar and Jordan.
