Italian water cooler manufacturer Blupura has been acquired by American water treatment company Culligan.
Founders of Blupura, Luca Costantini and Gianni Grottini, will still have full management of the brand and remain autonomous from the parent company.
The Italian manufacturer was launched in 2008 with the idea of offering the international market a new angle on mains-fed water coolers, thanks to the use of natural fluoride-free compressors.
A statement released by the company said: “The two founding partners have developed a remarkable company, a unique brand and ground-breaking products, which are now recognised worldwide.
“This has all been achieved thanks to their ingenious insight into the market, the high quality of the products, the capabilities of their team, but above all by the customers who believed in the Blupura vision and have therefore made all of this possible.”
All products are made in Italy and in 2015 Blupura introduced a solution to offer high quantities of still and sparkling water through a series of dispensers on different floors linked via a central unit.
