Danish gin brand Herbie has added to its beverage portfolio with a non-alcohol variant made with juniper, apples, lavender and orange peel, called Herbie Virgin.
The drink is distilled in the same stills that produce Herbie Gin, which was launched in December last year.
For the first six months of 2017, the company has been focused on the Danish market, but with the launch of the non-alcohol variant it is looking for export opportunities, particularly in the UK and Central Europe.
Company CEO Anders Bilgram said: “It has been very interesting to develop a product with the taste of gin, but without the alcohol.
“We believe there is a big market for alcohol-free alternatives for people who don’t drink or just want to drink less alcohol.”
Herbie Gin can produce 200,000 bottles of gin per year at its current distillery but the recipe is scalable and aims to increase production to one million bottles per year within five years.
