Danone and Mars have teamed up in Portugal to release “a unique snack” that combines Danone’s yogurt with M&M’s branding.
The new two-pot format features creamy Danone yogurt and crunchy M&M’s chocolate pieces that Danone has said “neither children nor adults can resist”. The introduction significantly enhances the French dairy company’s offering in the Portuguese children’s segment.
Similar products already exist in markets such as the US and UK.
Its introduction will be supported by an extensive marketing campaign covering billboard advertising, promotional activity and the launch of an in-store sampling campaign.
Each yogurt will be available with a recommended retail price of €1.19 per tub. The product will be rolled out first at the end of this month in outlets of Portuguese supermarket chains Continente and Jumbo. It will then be rolled out in a small number of Pingo Doce stores across Portugal at the beginning of July – including locations in Braga and Lisbon.
