Divine Chocolate has announced the introduction of a new caramel-filled dark chocolate bar, following additions to other product lines.
The caramel dark chocolate bar is a combination of Divine’s rich dark chocolate with a soft, smooth, caramel filling. It will widen the company’s 40g count line range, joining the existing milk, 70% dark, white, milk with orange and milk caramel varieties. The new product will launch in time for Fairtrade Fortnight, which runs between 23 February and 8 March.
It follows two additions to Divine’s 100g range – 70% dark chocolate with mango and coconut, and 38% milk chocolate with whole almonds.
Sales director Jean-Paul Pelaez said: “We are really pleased with our new Dark Caramel bar which follows the success of the Milk Caramel bar we launched recently. Using the same rich, buttery caramel that is completely palm oil free, we have come up with a delicious alternative that dark chocolate lovers will really enjoy.”
The company sources high quality cocoa grown by the farmers that co-own a stake in the business. Kuapa Kokoo, a co-operative of 80,000 cocoa farmers in Ghana, benefit from the Fairtrade premium on the sale of their beans and receive a 45% share of Divine’s distributable profits, giving the farmers more economic stability, as well as the increased influence in the cocoa industry that company ownership brings.
