Dr. Oetker is expanding in the cake mixes sector with its new Bake in the Box Loaf Cake Mix range, available in three flavours.
The company said it is simple enough for even the most amateur of bakers to make as it aims to overcome the barriers that consumers face when baking at home: lack of time, skill, equipment, ingredients and confidence.
The Bake in the Box range is now available in the UK with a recommended retail price of £2.50 in double chocolate, lemon and poppy seed, and banana and chocolate chip flavours.
Dr. Oetker claimed that no equipment is required other than a tablespoon and a fork. To make the cakes, aspiring bakers add milk, mix in the box, and bake for 30 minutes.
Jan McKee, executive head of marketing at Dr. Oetker UK, said: “The sweet cake mixes category is worth £35 million and we’re excited to launch our new Bake in the Box range into the category.
“Bake in the Box will bring new consumers into the cake mixes category who currently feel like they don’t have the time, equipment or ingredients to bake. It’s extremely convenient and easy to make, and it tastes just like a freshly baked, homemade loaf.”
