The acquisition of the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based beverage group would include most of Davis’ direct store delivery territory in Pennsylvania and a portion of its New Jersey territory. It will also include its production and distribution facilities, delivery vehicles and vending equipment.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed. The two companies are aiming to complete the sale in the fourth quarter.
Davis Beverage Group distributes several of Dr Pepper’s brands to a 42-county territory. It also carries third-party brands that have distribution agreements with the Plano-based beverage company, including Bai5, FIJIm Vita Coco and Neuro.
The acquisition would help Dr Pepper strengthen its route to market, improve its operating efficiency and leverage its business model, DPS President and CEO Larry Young said in a released statement.
