DSM has announced that it will upgrade its vitamin B2 production facility in Grenzach, Germany as the company seeks to enhance its position as one of the leading producers of the ingredient.
The company claims that the move will expand production capacity of vitamin B2 at the site by approximately 15-20%.
According to DSM, the upgrade should be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019, and the plant will need to cease operations for 2 months while the necessary technical work is carried out.
DSM supplies vitamin B2 as an application-based formulation or as premix ingredient to the food, pharma and dietary supplements markets.
The move follows on from DSM’s decision to build the ‘industry’s first’ premix production plant dedicated to the early life nutrition market at its factory in Buk, Poland last month.
