Dunkin’ Donuts has revealed that it will enable consumers in the US to pay for their coffee and baked goods using Google Wallet, the technology giant’s mobile payment system.
Customers will be able to purchase and reload virtual Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards onto their Google Wallet account using Android devoices for the first time. “This new digital payment option provides guests with a new way to load and reload their virtual Dunkin’ Donuts cards,” making it easier and quicker for customers to pay, the firm said.
We recently revealed that Coca-Cola was introducing 100,000 vending machines across North America enabled with Apple Pay technology, allowing consumers to pay for products easily and securely using their iPhone or Apple Watch.
Dunkin’ Brands vice president for global consumer engagement Scott Hudler said: “Google Wallet offers our guests with Android devices another quick and convenient way to load or reload a Dunkin’ Donuts card within the Dunkin’ Mobile app, to purchase favorite Dunkin’ Donuts food and beverages quickly and get back into their busy day. Developing and delivering technologies to enhance guests’ experience, including the Dunkin’ Mobile app, DD Perks rewards program, and eventually mobile ordering, will continue to differentiate our brand as we continue our growth throughout the country.”
