Matthias Heinzel has been appointed as the president of DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences
DuPont will consolidate its operations by combining its Nutrition & Health and Industrial Biosciences divisions into one unit, in an attempt to accelerate its growth and innovation in the nutrition and bioscience field.
Called DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences, the combined division will utilise the complementary expertise and skills of the two units in the areas of food enzyme production, human and animal microbiome science, bioprocess engineering and R&D, and DuPont says that the unit registered revenue of $6.2 billion in 2018.
DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences will serve customers through platforms: Food & Beverage, Health & Bioscience and Pharma Solutions. These platforms will serve customers in speciality food, healthcare, pharma, household and personal care, animal nutrition and biotechnology sectors.
The new business will be headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Matthias Heinzel has been appointed as the president of the new unit.
Before being appointed as president of the unit, Heinzel had served as the president of DuPont Nutrition & Health division since 2015. Heinzel joined DuPont in 2003 as marketing manager for DuPont Imaging Technologies.
Commenting on the launch of the new unit, Heinzel said: “Both DuPont Nutrition & Health and Industrial Biosciences are known for their innovations and strong scientific approach.
“Combining the two businesses is a step to further accelerate growth and innovation while better providing customers across our industries with innovative, healthy, safe and sustainable solutions.”
