DuPont Nutrition & Health has created a new naturally-sourced, beaded monoglyceride emulsifier called Dimodan HP 90-M, and the company claims the new format improves production efficiency when compared to powdered emulsifiers.
Monoglyceride emulsifiers are commonly used by food manufacturers, but powdered emulsifiers can become lumpy under certain conditions, which can hamper production efficiency.
DuPont claims that the unique beaded format of the new Dimodan HP 90-M emulsifier helps reduce lump formation in the production process while providing the same functionality and quality of powdered monoglyceride emulsifiers, increasing efficiency for manufacturers.
The Dimodan HP 90-M emulsifier is made from sustainable palm oil, and is suitable for a wide range of applications including the production of margarine, non-dairy creamers and whipping gels.
Additionally, dust formation in the production process is “significantly reduced” by the beaded emulsifier, leading to improved safety and health conditions for handlers on production lines.
Sun Ligong, regional product manager at DuPont said: “Standard monoglyceride emulsifiers come in a fine, powdered format with inhomogeneous particles that ultimately cause lumps and flow-related issues.
“Our beaded format is coarse with more homogeneous particles that prevents lumping and increases flowability.
“This brings a number of enhancements to the production and shipping stages for our customers who now have products with more consistency.”
