It said: ‘At least $2bn could be slashed from the annual healthcare budget if Australians increased their dairy intake.’
It continued: ‘The potential healthcare savings associated with eating the recommended amount of dairy were … comparable to the entire public health budget.’
Apparently, 65% of Australians consume less dairy products than recommended. Three daily servings are required for adequate calcium intake, one serving is equal to a cup of milk, two slices of cheese or a pot of yogurt.
Is this a perfect example of a no-brainer?
