Lightweight packaging manufacturer Ecolean has launched the EL1+ filling machine for chilled family-sized packages, making it the company’s fourth machine launch within two years.
Sweden-based Ecolean has developed its previous model to increase product safety, quality and hygiene while reducing utility consumption.
The new simplified design includes four fillers instead of two, increasing its capacity by up to 140% per cent compared to the previous model with the ability of filling up to 7000 packages per hour. The modified infeed servo system handles packages in a single cam movement, filling liquid food products into Ecolean Air packages in sizes 500 ml, 1000 ml and 1500 ml.
The model’s developments provide the options of including an applicator for Ecolean’s reclosing SnapQuick closure and an air-handling unit to provide the filling system with HEPA-filtered air.
The outfeed has been redesigned to improve its ability to connect with auxiliary equipment and the machine now includes a fully automated cleaning system. According to Ecolean, this latter addition ensures the same level of hygiene at the start of every production cycle.
Christian Olsson, Director Filling Lines at Ecolean said: “We know that the industry continuously evolves and so should the efficiency of our equipment. Ecolean strives to make operations easier for our customers as well as keeping both the footprint and environmental impact light. The EL1+ and our recent machine upgrades support that commitment.”
Following its announcement to build a new production facility in Sweden, Ecolean said an increase in production capacity is needed to meet the liquid food industry’s demands for its lightweight packaging solutions. This recent launch on 20 Aug supports the packaging manufacturer’s goal in providing a lighter life for both liquid food producers and consumers worldwide.
