Beyond Better Foods-owned ice cream brand Enlightened has entered into a new category with the launch of a line of low-sugar fruit bars.
Enlightened claims its new Fruit Infusions are the first functional frozen fruit bars ever to come on the market. Each one is infused with different adaptogens, which claim specific benefits ranging from anti-inflammatory to immune system-supporting properties.
Each bar contains just 3-5g of sugar, which, according to Enlightened, is 70-80% less than other fruit bars and popsicles.
Fruit Infusions are available in four flavours: Watermelon + Soothe, infused with turmeric, black pepper and rosemary; Strawberry + Chill, with ‘stress-relieving’ lavender, chamomile and lemon balm; Pineapple + Renew, featuring dandelion root, turmeric and ginger root; and Coconut + Immunity, made with elderberry, hibiscus and aloe.
“Our brand purpose is to provide consumers with feel-good, low-sugar frozen desserts, so one of our top priorities is finding new ways to put a healthful spin on beloved treats,” said Enlightened founder and CEO Michael Shoretz.
“Now more than ever, consumers are looking for functional benefits in the grocery store. It’s something we’ve seen in a lot of juices and blended shakes, but not as much in food products.
“We’re thrilled to expand this concept in the frozen aisle with a refreshing new take on fruit bars.”
Fruit Infusions are available from Whole Foods Market stores in the US, for an RRP of $5.99 and will launch on the brand’s e-commerce site this summer.
Enlightened has also expanded its range of ice cream this year with new additions to its Keto Collection line, including Caramel Chocolate Double Dough and P.B. Cookie & Brownie Dough flavours.
