Artisan British crisp company Fairfields Farm has launched a new range of tortilla crisps.
Designed ‘to add some Mexican flavour to the snack aisle’, it is the first time that the brand has developed a maize snack.
Fairfields Farm is hoping to distinguish itself from much larger players, like Dorito’s, by offer a premium and artisan edge.
Made using only natural flavours and packed in 125g bags, the new tortillas are available in two typically Mexican flavours: jalapeño and lime, and nacho cheese.
Fairfields Farm founder Robert Strathern said: “At Fairfields Farm we are always looking at new areas of the snack market that will allow us to increase our market share and appeal to a broader range of consumers.
“Our new tortillas are an excellent extension to our range and one that our customers have been asking for. There’s a real need for a higher-quality range of tortilla chip and we are very excited for people to try them.”
The new snacks will join Fairfield Farm’s range of hand-cooked potato, vegetable and lentil crisps, with a recommended retail price of £1.50 per bag.
They join the line of low-fat lentil crisps that the producer released back in September.
