Michigan-based coffee brand Ferris Coffee & Nut Co has introduced a new cold brew coffee beverage for the US market.
Packaged in nitrogen-infused cans, the new cold brew coffee flavour will be available in both 12 oz cans and recyclable 5-gallon kegs, which are aimed at wholesalers.
The drink is produced from Ferris coffee sourced from Central and South America and water, and the drink contains no added sweeteners, creamers, preservatives or flavourings.
According to the brand, the nitrogen adds a “smooth and creamy mouthfeel” to the drink.
Sam Mirto, Ferris’s director of coffee said: “Our coffee team has tested small batches of kegged and bottled cold brew in our own cafes since 2014, and the response has been tremendous.
“Now, after many experiments, we’ve landed on a recipe that we are excited to share with the greater community.
“Efficiency and sustainability are strong priorities within our company. The recyclable 5-gallon kegs will be a perfect option for many of our wholesale partners.”
The Ferris cold brew coffee will be available from selected US retailers and direct from the brand from 2 April.
Single-serve cans will be available with a suggested retail price of $3.75 per can, while four-packs will also be available, as well as the 5-gallon kegs.
