The barrel aged ale is brewed with Kentucky sourced pumpkin and richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Caramel and vanilla are also added to the limited release brew, which has an ABV rating of 10%.
“Seasonals, especially pumpkin ales during the fall, are extremely popular among craft beer enthusiasts,” said Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. master brewer Ken Lee. “Because barrel aging is our brewery’s specialty, we wanted to get creative with the idea of a seasonal program by focusing on aging all the brews in bourbon barrels, starting with the Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale.”
Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale is available in limited quantities in the areas of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia, New York, Florida, Wisconsin and Illinois.
