The 480ml Butterkist Toffee Popcorn Ice Cream tub will launch with national listings from autumn and will be the first branded popcorn ice cream widely available in the market.
Worth £26m in the UK, Butterkist has a 42% market share of the popcorn sector.
Fredericks Dairies trade customer marketing manager Ed Jones said: “The launch of the UK’s No 1 popcorn brand into the growing super-premium ice cream category is certain to offer consumers an exciting and much loved alternative to the market leader. The super-premium category is up +15% over summer and as the first widely available branded popcorn flavour ice cream in the category, the Butterkist Toffee Popcorn Ice Cream Tub has the potential to recruit new shoppers into the market. We’re confident that consumers will love the new ice cream product and enjoy the distinct textures and toffee flavour it has to offer.”
