DPET (direct-to-sheet PET) provides greater strength than laminated APET/PE and comes with the added benefit of being 100% recyclable, reducing the amount of packaging that can potentially enter landfills.
As the world’s first and only direct-to-sheet polyester sheet, DPET technology eliminates five energy intensive stages of the conventional sheet production process (pelletizer, SSP, compactor, dryer and extruder). This new packaging product also has the lowest carbon footprint than any other PET on the market.
“Direct-to-sheet technology establishes, for the food packaging market, a new standard for quality and sustainability,” said Octal COO William J. Barenberg Jr.
“This translates into better processing performance for customers and a superior stream of PET flake for collection and reprocessing waste. Octal is proud to be a part of improving both the sustainability profile of PET sheet available to the market as well as the sheets or pellets reprocessed after collection and reprocessing.”
