Ginsters has launched a limited-edition steak and Tribute ale pasty in the UK, just in time for New Year’s celebrations.
Steak and ale flavour is a favourite with pasty consumers, Ginsters said, and its latest limited-edition variety was developed in collaboration with St Austell Brewery, the manufacturer of Cornish pale ale Tribute.
The pasty combines 100% British steak and Tribute ale with potatoes and onions, all wrapped in a light puff pastry.
Kate Brown, brand manager for Ginsters, said: “We already know pasty fans love steak and ale flavour pasties; the combination of 100% British steak and an award-winning Cornish pale ale is sure to go down well with our consumers. Both brands, with their strong Cornish heritage, are recognised and trusted by consumers for their quality and commitment to locally sourced ingredients.
“Our Cornish heritage is reflected in the new eye-catching packaging together with the distinctive Tribute Ale branding, which will have real standout on shelf.”
St Austell Brewery trade marketing manager Marc Bishop said: “We are really pleased that Ginsters has chosen to use Tribute, our flagship pale ale, in their steak and ale limited-edition pasty. The joint branding works really well on pack and reinforces the Cornish Heritage of both companies.”
The pasty will launch on 28 December across the impulse sector with a recommended retail price of £1.99, and will be supported by a range of eye-catching point-of-sale materials to drive awareness among consumers.
