Glanbia Nutritionals has announced its acquisition of Foodarom, a Canadian flavour agency servicing the food, beverage and nutritional product markets, for CAD 60 million ($45.4 million).
With a portfolio focused on both dairy and non-dairy nutritional ingredients, Glanbia Nutritionals includes Glanbia’s Nutritional Solutions and US Cheese businesses.
Helping companies with their flavour and formulation needs, Foodarom’s flavour library comprises over 15,000 recipes and produces both liquid and powder variations for a range of applications. The company’s offering includes botanical, sweet, vanilla and dairy flavour ranges.
Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Foodarom also owns production facilities in Salt Lake City and Bremen, Germany, with culinary labs in San Diego and Milan, Italy.
The acquisition will enable Glanbia Nutritionals to strengthen its capability in the area of flavours and nutritional solutions. By combining the two company’s R&D teams, Glanbia will also enhance its ability to provide customised and optimised ingredients systems to its customers.
